10 Million People Now Employed Worldwide by Renewable Energy

Not only is renewable energy saving us from choking pollution and environmental damage, but a new report says that renewable energy is now employing almost 10 million people worldwide.

By 2030, the report states, at least 24 million people will have jobs in the renewable energy sector.

These findings published by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) suggest that renewables are helping the planet, while also helping the people of the planet, by changing socio-economic conditions right along with making air, water, and soil quality better.

IRENA states that China, Brazil, the United States, India, Japan and Germany accounted for most of the renewable-energy jobs. In China for example, 3.64 million people worked in renewables in 2016, a rise of 3.4 per cent over the past several years.

Twice as many people in the U.S. now work in the wind industry as in coal mining, and the solar industry employs even more. 800,000 people currently make a living providing cleaner energy to the planet.

This industry is also creating jobs 12 times faster than any other sector of the economy.

Solar and wind production costs are also dropping every year, and many places now even have an excess of energy – Texas and California among them, in the U.S. In Germany, negative energy prices are common due to the country’s renewable energy infrastructure.

Not only are renewable energy sources providing jobs – but the ephemeral “free energy” that everyone in the alternative community talks about – its already happening. All we need to do now is to take the model worldwide.

People like Elon Musk have had a vision to build renewable energy through solar installations for some time. His single Gigafactory in Nevada will employ more than 6,000 employees, and with plans of building up to 5 more, Tesla and Elon Musk could provide jobs for countless Americans.

China and India are also providing thousands of jobs to people in the renewable energy field.

Sunlight striking the planet for just an hour in a single day is enough to power the entire planet for a year, yet we still get less than .0039% of our energy from the sun.

Though it would have been nice if the technologies of Rife, Schauberger, and Tesla (Nikola not Musk’s company)  were implemented long ago, at least the infinite power of the sun, tides, and wind, biomass, and even collected waste, are being utilized for a cleaner planet, and improved socio-economic conditions.
