Published

Without a doubt, the world is a better place than it was 100 years ago. No longer must women secure their place in the world through marriage, and no longer is slavery legal. Additionally, the advent of technology has allowed people from all around the globe to connect, and this is fueling change at an exponential rate.

However, we would be deluding ourselves to say the Earth is perfect. War, famine, and shortages of resources persist. And in many societies, hypocritical attitudes pervade people’s characters and conversations.

It’s because issues cannot be remedied until they are acknowledged by the masses that we are sharing a compilation of insightful illustrations that expose double standards in modern-day society. As Bored Panda reports, most are mildly disturbing by how accurate they are. From a woman being shamed for breastfeeding in public when there is a scantily-clad woman in a background advertisement to the sexist attire female comic heroes are expected to wear, following are 15 double standards in our society most of us are probably guilty of.
