A 17-year-old Australian teen became world famous last week after he cracked an egg on the head of a politician who blamed the recent New Zealand tragedy on the victims.

Just after the incident occurred, 69-year-old Australian Senator Fraser Anning said, “The real cause of the bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place.”

“Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence?” he also tweeted.

As expected, the Senator’s comments sparked outrage across the nation, and he was forced to make numerous public apologies to the media. While Anning was speaking to reporters in Melbourne, 17-year-old Will Connolly walked right up to him and cracked a raw egg against his bald head.

A scuffle then broke out between the boy and the politician, where they quickly took a few swings at one another. The politician managed to hit the boy in the head before his supporters tackled him to the ground and subdued him with excessive force.

Connolly was detained by police but quickly released without charges. By the time he was out jail, Connolly earned the nickname of “Egg Boy,” and had become a viral internet sensation.

A Go Fund Me page was set up for the young man and it has already collected over $71,000.

“This kid is awesome. The senator will not get re-elected due to the publicity and those comments and his reaction,” donor Nikhil Reddy posted.

“Love the spunk of egg boy who puts his egg where we’d like it to be!” donor Val Lehmann-Monck wrote.

In a statement to his followers after the incident, the boy urged his online followers not to follow his example:

“Don’t egg politicians. You get tackled by 30 bogans at the same time. I learnt the hard way.”

Connolly was very honored by the donations he received and said that the majority of the money will be passed on to the victims of the Christchurch tragedy.

Australian prime minister Scott Morrison called Anning’s comments “appalling and ugly,” and called for an investigation of the Senator for assaulting the young man who hit him with an egg.

“I would normally not want to give this any oxygen, but I want to absolutely and completely denounce the statements made by Senator Anning… on this horrendous terrorist attack, with issues of immigration, in his attack on Islamic faith specifically,” Morrison said.

A petition to have Senator Anning removed from parliament has already gathered nearly a million signatures.

“Senator Fraser Anning’s views have no place in the government of our democratic and multicultural country. Within the bounds of Australian law, we request that he be pushed to resign from his position as Senator, and if appropriate, be investigated by law enforcement agencies for supporting right-wing terrorism,” the petition reads.
