$80 Million Bounty on Trump’s Head as Iran MP Calls for Attack on the White House
“We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil.”
(TMU) — The Trump administration has insisted that the recent show of force against Iranian military officials in the Middle East has been intended to prevent conflict, but it seems to be having the opposite effect.
Iranian officials and military representatives have become even more angry with the United States following the recent assassination of top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, and the subsequent targeting of numerous sites affiliated with Iran.
Initially, Iran threatened to take out dozens of military bases and warships that are currently stationed in the Persian Gulf, but now the rhetoric has intensified, with calls for attacks on American soil. During a speech to the country’s parliament on Sunday, Iranian MP Abolfazl Abutorabi called for a direct attack on the White House in response to Soleimani’s death.
“We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time,” Abutorabi said, according to Iranian news agency ILNA.
“When someone declares war do you want to respond to the bullets with flowers? They will shoot you in the head,” he added.
The comments were made during an emergency session that was called in Parliament to discuss the escalating conflict with the United States.
Meanwhile, an organizer of the massive funeral procession for General Soleimani that brought hundreds of thousands into the streets called for an $80 million bounty to be put on Donald Trump’s head, which would amount to one dollar being contributed by each Iranian citizen. However, to be clear, the Iranian government itself did not place a bounty on Trump’s head.
“Iran has 80 million inhabitants. Based on the Iranian population, we want to raise $80million (£61million) which is a reward for those who get close to the head of President Trump,” one of the procession organizers said.
On Friday, during a gathering with Iranian Air Force officers, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei explained the popular chant of “Death to America,” which is often shouted after acts of U.S. military aggression, saying that the message is to the leaders of America, not its citizens.
“As long as America continues its wickedness, the Iranian nation will not abandon ‘Death to America’. ‘Death to America’ means death to Trump, (National Security Adviser) John Bolton, and (Secretary of State Mike) Pompeo. It means death to American rulers,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, according to Reuters.
As the Mind Unleashed reported previously, Trump threatened to hit dozens of sites important to Iran and its culture “hard and fast” if they dared to retaliate for the bombing campaign against its military officers in Syria and Iraq.
An ominous red flag symbolizing an impending war was raised in Iran on Saturday. Historians say that this is the first time the flag has ever been raised by the Iranian government, which signifies a new era of military tensions and weakened diplomacy between the United States and Iran.
