Rapper Cardi B Says She Wants to Run for Congress
Cardi B wants to be a politician even though she doesn’t “agree with government.”

(TMU) — While Donald Trump is certainly not the first celebrity president, his time in office seems to have inspired other celebrities to follow in his footsteps.
Rapper Kanye West has repeatedly voiced his aspirations to become president, and in recent years he has cozied up to the Trump administration in an attempt to get his foot in the door. Other celebrities, like Dwayne Johnson aka “The Rock,” have also suggested that they could make a run for the presidential office in the future.
The most recent celebrity to make mention of getting involved in politics is Cardi B. She seems to have goals that are a bit more reasonable and is looking at a run for Congress instead of president. In a series of tweets on Sunday the rapper revealed that she may go back to school and seriously consider a run for Congress.
I think I want to be a politician.I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Goverment

Like I was watching War https://t.co/r4gwhTQkHy matter how many weapons a country have you need people ! How are you trying to go against a country and possibly start a war when this country lacks patriotism? I barely see people claiming they LOVE being American.

While her potential political positions and affiliations are not entirely clear, Cardi B has shown support for Democratic candidate and current frontrunner Bernie Sanders. Earlier this month she was also critical of Donald Trump’s threats to destroy Iranian cultural sites and is surprisingly vocal about political issues considering how most pop artists avoid these kinds of controversial topics.
If Cardi B does pursue a political path it could even be possible for her to become a presidential candidate someday. It is even conceivable that Democrat Cardi B could face off against Republican Kanye West in a presidential race in the not-so-distant future. It would certainly be strange to see the two rappers hashing out policy issues on the debate stage or scripting attack advertisement campaigns against one another.
In the video below, Cardi B speaks with Bernie Sanders about police misconduct during an interview where the two shared their opinions on a variety of different policy issues.
