(TMU) — On April 11, 2019 Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was forcibly removed from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London where he had lived since 2012 and immediately arrested by London Metropolitan Police. Now, one year later, the world has learned that Assange fathered two children with his fiancée during his time at the embassy.

The Daily Mail broke the news in an exclusive article Saturday evening detailing how the pair met and how Assange was able to meet his children.

Stella Morris, a 37-year-old lawyer, reportedly fell in love with Assange while working on a legal bid to halt his extradition five years ago. The couple was engaged in 2017 and has yet to be married.

While hiding inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in an attempt to avoid extradition to the United States where he faces espionage charges, Assange fathered two children, Gabriel and Max, with Stella Morris.

Assange’s secret family was first revealed last week in court papers related to his extradition case.

Gabriel, the couple’s oldest child who is now two, was conceived in 2016 when Assange had already been inside the embassy for four years, a year before the couple was engaged.

According to Morris, Assange watched the birth of both children live via video link. She also reports that both of the couple’s children have been able to visit their father in prison. British rapper M.I.A., the Duchess of Beaufort, and former actress Tracy Ward are the boy’s godmothers.

The emotional images released today show Assange spending time with his children in the embassy.

It appears the couple managed to keep their relationship and the birth of their sons secret from not only Ecuadorian diplomats and officials but also from numerous friends as well as enemies.

Assange is currently being held in Belmarsh Prison, where one inmate has already died of CoViD-19. Attempts at freeing him as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic have thus far failed, which is why his fiancée has decided to come forward now with the bombshell revelation of his secret family.

Morris is pleading with the UK government to free Assange as they free thousands of other prisoners in an attempt to stop the spread of the deadly virus in prisons. She is highlighting his increased vulnerability due to a chronic lung condition and mental health issues as a result of extended isolation.

Morris said:

I love Julian deeply and I am looking forward to marrying him.

Over the past five years I have discovered that love makes the most intolerable circumstances seem bearable but this is different – I am now terrified I will not see him alive again.

Julian has been fiercely protective of me and has done his best to shield me from the nightmares of his life.

I have lived quietly and privately, raising Gabriel and Max on my own and longing for the day we could be together as a family.

Now I have to speak out because I can see that his life is on the brink.

Julian’s poor physical health puts him at serious risk, like many other vulnerable people, and I don’t believe he will survive infection with coronavirus.

Mentally, I do not think he will survive further enforced isolation either.

He is effectively in solitary confinement, in a cell for up for 23 and a half hours a day with no access to us, his family, or the psychiatric help he needs.”

Assange is currently facing 17 charges under the Espionage Act, as well as one count of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion.
