Earlier this year, the Pentagon formally announced that they have at least one task force dedicated to studying UFOs, and earlier this month, US President Donald Trump acknowledged the existence of the program.

It seems that now conversations about the possibility of alien life are not as taboo as they once were. Some people, including celebrities, are starting to speak more freely about their opinions or even personal experiences with UFOs.

In a recent interview, pop star Miley Cyrus claimed that she was “chased down by some sort of UFO” and said that she made “eye contact” with an alien.

The claims were made in an interview with Fashion Designer Rick Owens for Interview magazine.

Cyrus said that the incident “f***ed me up” and said that she now can’t “look at the sky the same”.

“I was driving through San Bernardino with my friend, and I got chased down by some sort of UFO. I’m pretty sure about what I saw,” she said.

However, she did add that she was under the influence of strong concentrates.

“I’d also bought weed wax from a guy in a van in front of a taco shop, so it could have been the weed wax,” she added.

Cyrus now claims to live a life of sobriety after many years of partying hard in the entertainment industry. Cyrus described the UFO as a “flying snowplough” that was “glowing yellow” with a “big plough in the front of it”.

“I did see it flying, and my friend saw it, too. There were a couple of other cars on the road and they also stopped to look, so I think what I saw was real,” she said.

Cyrus added that she did not feel threatened by the experience, even when she made eye contact with what she described as a “being.”

“It looked at me and we made eye contact, and I think that’s what really shook me, looking into the eyes of something that I couldn’t quite wrap my head around,” she said.

While she did not feel threatened, she did say that she was “shaken up” for days by the experience.

“I was shaken up for like five days. It f***ed me up. I couldn’t really look at the sky the same. I thought they might come back,” she said.

Cyrus is the daughter of country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus, and became a teen celebrity while portraying the title character of the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana between 2006 and 2011.

As Hannah Montana, she attained two number-one and three top-ten soundtracks on the US Billboard 200. She went on to have many other hit songs, and has sold 20 million singles and 12 million albums. As an actress, Cyrus has made appearances in the animated film Bolt and the feature films Hannah Montana: The Movie and The Last Song.

Cyrus is an animal rights advocate and adopted a vegan lifestyle in 2014; she founded the non-profit Happy Hippie Foundation in 2014, which focuses on youth homelessness and the LGBT community.
