Keanu Reeves Says That He Wants To Play An ‘Older’ Batman
“Maybe down the road. Maybe when they need an older Batman.”
In an interview with Extra, Reeves discussed his position in ‘League of Super-Pets’ and said that, despite the fact that Robert Pattinson is now playing the title character in ‘The Batman,’ he would welcome the opportunity to play the part himself in the future.
“I love Batman as a character, and I love him in the comic books, in the films, so to get the opportunity to voice, to play Batman, was awesome. It’s always been a dream, but Pattinson’s got Batman right now. He’s doing awesome. Maybe down the road. Maybe when they need an older Batman.” Reeves says.
The Batman, which was directed by Matt Reeves and also starred Zoe Kravitz, was released earlier this year to significant economic success and critical acclaim. DC has confirmed that a sequel is on the way in April, and it will include both Matt Reeves and Zoe Kravitz.
The cast and crew have discussed what they’d want to see in it, with Pattinson wanting his own take on the Court of Owls tale and director Matt Reeves hoping to incorporate Mr. Freeze into his dark and gritty Batman world.
There are also going to be two television shows: one will center on Colin Farrell’s portrayal of the Penguin, and the other will be a Gotham Police Department series that will depict a “haunted house” type narrative situated in Arkham.
