The Little Mermaid Trailer Has Finally Been Released, Revealing Our First Full Look At The New Live-Action Ariel
The first trailer for The Little Mermaid has arrived, giving audiences their first comprehensive look at Hailey Berry as the live-action version of Ariel.
The Little Mermaid has been adapted into a live-action film by Disney, and the first look at the film has been released. After The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is one of the most recent live-action adaptations from the company to make its way into cinemas. The animated picture of the same name was released in 1989.
Rob Marshall (Chicago) is directing the magical musical, which stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.
Ariel, the protagonist of “The Little Mermaid,” is a mermaid princess who longs to go to the surface world. She eventually makes a deal with Ursula, the antagonist of the story, to become human and win the heart of Prince Eric.
In the middle of the COVID-19 outbreak and Melissa McCarthy’s scheduled shooting Nine Perfect Strangers, production on the live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” encountered a few obstacles, which ultimately led to delays.
Finally, Disney has unveiled the first teaser for The Little Mermaid, which includes a brief preview of the classic song “Part of Your World,” as well as the first complete look of Berry as the live-action Ariel amongst the underwater setting of the film.
During D23, the trailer was unveiled, and attendees were treated to a full viewing of the sequence in which Berry sings the song. Marshall divulged the information that the live-action adaptation would also have four new songs that were written by Alan Menken and Lin Manuel Miranda. Have a peek at the trailer that’s been provided down below:
The appeal of Disney’s The Little Mermaid has been passed down from one generation to the next, ensuring that it will remain one of the company’s all-time best-loved animated films for years to come. Berry’s hiring was met with some seemingly racial hostility originally; nevertheless, the actress has more than shown to be a wonderful match for this modern interpretation of the classic story, particularly with her singing abilities.
When it is finally released on May 26, 2023, The Little Mermaid is likely to be a very financially successful, so it is no surprise that the anticipation for this movie has already begun to rise to the surface, even with only a little bit of promotion. There’s no doubting Halle Bailey has some singing chops!
