These Art Pieces are Cryptocurrency Easter Eggs Worth Thousands of Dollars

2018 has unexpectedly become the year of the cryptocurrency from its very outset with the massive rise of Bitcoin.

In recent 2018 cryptocurrency news, an artist based in Los Angeles is promoting the rise of cryptocurrency by creating art pieces that contain the incentive to crack a code for monetary gain. It appears he was way ahead of the curve, as the pieces were made in 2017.

Thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are embedded into the artist’s pieces, which amount to essentially visual representations of cryptocurrency wallet QR codes that a person might obtain by figuring them out.

You can take these pieces and place them on the wall, or you could look at them as encrypted passwords, prizes dangling before our eyes worth up to about US$10,000 in Bitcoin and alternative cryptocurrencies.

“I am attempting to help those without computer science backgrounds visualise and understand the rather abstract concept of cryptocurrencies and simultaneous democratising the potential and volatility that comes along with them,” artist Andy Bauch said.

The QR code art’s medium was actually LEGOs. At Castelli Art Space in Los Angeles, New Money, Bauch’s latest show received an exhibition. Requiring the tedious analysis of about 100,000 bricks, people have the ability to reveal keys to his crypto wallets which contain Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Cannabiscoin, and Litecoin.

The difficulty appears to be the fact that the person decoding the art pieces doesn’t know the value of the piece before it is cracked. So like an Easter egg hunt, you can choose a piece to decode but not all of them have sizeable fortunes contained within.

Another mystery surrounding the art pieces is the fact that nobody seems to know exactly when the cryptocurrencies were purchased.

Bauch simply says a wallet was “originally valued” at $20, $50, $90, ect. Now what is that worth in at least Bitcoin? Up to tens of thousands of dollars is what these should be worth now.

Without even purchasing an artpiece, one can simply “steal the cryptocurrency from the art” and decode the pattern from afar. Take a look at these photos: if you can decode them and someone else has not already obtained the wallet, you might be able to hit the jackpot right now.
