This Couple Has Been Traveling For 5 years Around Europe Living The Perfect Van Life

Can you imagine what it would be like to travel around and live out of a van?  Though that idea may horrify some, to the rest of us that level of freedom sounds like a dream come true.

Back in Spring of 2010 this couple bought a sad looking Volkswagen T4 van and with a lot of love, creativity and a very small budget were able to borrow some tools and create their dream home.  Over the next 5 years, they travel across Europe in their Rolling Home covering more than 80,000 miles.

Calum Creasey and Lauren Smith are the creative couple who roamed the United Kingdom over the past 5 years.  In their free time, they have put together a book of their journeys called “The Rolling Home”.  The project is well on its way to being fully funded in their Kickstarter campaign where they promise that the journey isn’t over.

The funds they are getting from the project is to help them fix up the van and move into it full time.  Lauren’s goal is to show people through the book and their social media that living the lifestyle of your choice is both reasonably attainable and a lot of fun.

All you need to do is to get out of your comfort zone and follow your heart on to the next adventure!

Lauren and Calum are from Newport Pagnell which is a town in Buckinghamshire.  They have always loved exploring and spending time in the outdoors.  Calum grew up with many different sizes and shapes of campervans.

“Life is simple in vans, we get to see the world together!” 

The couple enjoys staying in the most beautiful and remote areas of Sweden, and in Galicia, Spain.

The couple says that the hardest thing they run into when it comes to living in a van is when they come across towns that aren’t very “van friendly”.  Imagine it is late at night, you are tired and just looking for a place to park in the dark to sleep for the night.

There are times where it isn’t all fun and games, but overall the couple loves their life and wants to continue it many more years.
