Still Lucky: Tennesee Man Loses, Then Finds, Winning $1 Million Lotto Ticket

A Tennessee man with extraordinarily good luck nearly became the most unlucky man in the world, but his good fortune ultimately managed to win the day.

Nick Slatten bought a Tennessee Cash lotto ticket at the Village Market in Sparta on Thursday, March 11, ahead of that night’s drawing. When he checked the winning numbers, he was thrilled to discover that he had won $1,178,746.

“I was stunned. I couldn’t believe it,” Slatten told officials in a press release. “I can’t express it. It was something else.”

Elated, Slatten shared the great news with his fiancée and went to run some errands, including stopping by an O’Reilly’s to purchase some much-needed parts for his car, reports WZTV.

An hour later, disaster seemed to strike as his lottery ticket appeared to have gone missing.

“I couldn’t find it anywhere,” Slatten said.

Slatten retraced his steps before returning to the auto parts store, where he saw his winning ticket in the middle of the parking lot.

“It’s a million-dollar ticket, and someone stepped right over it,” Slatten said.

Slatten immediately picked up the ticket and took it to the state lottery building, where he told officials that he and his fiancée plan to continue working their jobs but plan on purchasing a new home, new vehicles, and investing the rest of his winnings.

For now, Slatten’s main plan in the years ahead is to simply live life with “not a whole lot of worries.”
