Girl Bites Off Tongue of Man Attempting to Rape Her

(TMU) — A 21-year-old Indian woman fought off a potential rapist on Friday by biting off the tongue of her assailant in a successful bid to escape his grasp.
The aspiring model was leaving a birthday party in the city of Jaipur shortly after 1 am when she called for a taxi to take her back to her rented room, according to police.
A man, 25-year-old Sachin Sharma, was sitting in the passenger’s seat when the vehicle arrived at the hotel to pick the young woman up.
“When the girl stepped into the cab she confronted (the driver) as to why there was another passenger present in the car. (The driver) replied that Sharma was his friend and he would drop him off before her,” investigation officer Kamlesh Kumar told Times of India.
Minutes after the car drove away, Sharma jumped in the backseat with the woman where he attempted to sexually assault her. As she resisted his advances, he pulled out a pistol—which was later determined to be fake—and threatened to kill her. Once again, the predator thrust himself upon her; it was at that moment she bit down on his tongue as hard as she could and then cried out for help.
With part of his tongue now laying in the seat, Sharma began bleeding profusely causing the driver, 30-year-old Suresh Kumar Verma, to slow the vehicle down to examine the scene in the backseat.
As the cab came to a stop, the woman pushed Sharma into the door and bolted into the night towards the nearest police station.
Officers immediately alerted city hospitals to inquire if a patient of a similar case had arrived.
Police arrested and charged both Sharma and Verma under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 342 (wrongful confinement).
