(TMU) — Kanye West reportedly wants to help build low-income housing for the homeless in California, but for some reason, he wants the buildings to look like Luke Skywalker’s childhood home.

In a recent interview with Forbes, the rapper and entrepreneur said that he was planning to make a pitch to more investors in San Francisco.

The architecture will be inspired by the original “Star Wars” movie, and will look very similar to the dwellings depicted on the fictitious desert planet of Tatooine. It is not clear why Kanye has chosen this design, although it is widely known that he is a Star Wars fanatic.

West has not released any images of the homes or the property they are being built on but he took Forbes journalist Zack O’Malley Greenburg on a tour through the remote location in the woods of California where the neighborhood is being built.

“Inspired by Luke Skywalker’s childhood home, West has been working with a team to design prefabricated structures that sport the same austere aesthetic, with the goal of deploying them as low-income housing units. He tells me they could be used as living spaces for the homeless, perhaps sunk into the ground with light filtering in through the top,” Greenberg says.

According to Greenberg, there was a small team at work on the project when he was given a tour of the site.

Last year, following the California wildfires, West claimed that he was “building a fireproof community.”

No further details were released about the fireproof community, but there was some speculation that this may be the same project. However, there has been no official indication that the Star Wars homeless community will be fireproof.

Earlier this week, Jaden Smith announced that he will be opening a pop-up vegan food truck to feed the homeless in downtown Los Angeles.
