Legendary rapper and producer Dr. Dre has been hospitalized for a possible brain aneurysm and has received hospital care in California, according to Page Six, one of the first outlets to report the story which cited a source familiar with the artist’s condition.

He had reportedly received hospital care on Monday in Los Angeles after suffering from the aneurysm, though news didn’t break of his condition until later the following day. NBC news confirmed with one of Dre’s lawyers Peter Paterno that he had suffered a brain aneurysm.

Numerous celebrities have taken to social media to offer support to the star following reports of Andre Romelle Young’s condition, Dre’s real name.

At one point Young was in an intensive care unit but is now described as being in stable condition, LA Times reported.

The hip-hop mogul posted on Instagram that he is “doing great and getting excellent care,” and that he expects to be out of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center soon.

“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!,” Dre posted.

The Compton-born rapper first launched his career as a co-founder of the well known gangsta rap group N.W.A.

Young later launched his successful solo career with “The Chronic,” in 1992. The Chronic became one of the top-selling albums in 1993 earning Dre a Grammy.

Dr. Dre later became a successful producer, helping to launch the careers of artists such as Eminem and 50 Cent.
