Mona Lisa Was Smeared With Cake By A Man Disguised As An ‘Old Lady’

A guy, age 36, was taken into custody and put in mental treatment after he allegedly smeared cake on a glass screen that was housing the Mona Lisa in an act that was intended to be a protest against artists who do not concentrate enough on the planet.

The following is what the guy in the video says as he’s speaking French: “There are people who are destroying the Earth … All artists, think about the Earth. That’s why I did this. Think of the planet.”

As a result of the work’s enclosure in bulletproof glass, previous efforts at vandalism against the Leonardo da Vinci painting, which were unsuccessful in damaging the painting. According to The Guardian, representatives from the Louvre Museum refused to comment when asked about the strange occurrence.
