This Man Used A McDonald’s Box And An iPhone To Take Portraits, And The Results Will Stun You

If you’re an aspiring photographer, you likely believe fancy, expensive equipment is essential to capture stunning photographs. While high-end gear can sometimes improve the quality of photographs, ultimately, it is the skill of the person behind the camera that matters most. An individual who believes this to be true is famous French celebrity photographer Philippe Echaroux.

To prove expensive gear is not a necessity, Echaroux took on a challenge to show that incredible portraits can be captured with just a couple of items. He succeeded, using nothing more than a McDonald’s box, a drinking straw, and an iPhone. Reportedly, the hardest part was trying not to feel foolish in front of the people he was working with.

The video below reveals that the artist’s main goal wasn’t to showcase his own skills. Rather, he wants to push people to try what they have in mind (doesn’t need to be photography) with no excuse for waiting. At the end of the day, one will succeed or fail based on what they believe. The materials and equipment “required” are just tools which showcase the artist’s talent.

Like any professional photographer, Phillipe used Photoshop FIX, VSCO and Lightroom Mobile apps. However, those only enhanced the portraits. Without the proper lighting, it would have been impossible to obtain the desired results.
