(TMU) — Two of the biggest films that are set to hit theaters on May 21, 2021, will be starring the internet’s favorite actor, Keanu Reeves. May 21st has been scheduled as the release date for John Wick: Chapter 4 since earlier this year, but Warner Bros. announced this week that the fourth installment in the Matrix series will be released on the same day.

Fans of both films are excited to see them during the week of the release, and some have even suggested naming the day of the premiers “Keanu Reeves Day.”

In an interview last month about the new Matrix film, Reeves said that he has already read the script and called it “ambitious,” but didn’t reveal any details about the plot or the fate of the characters.

While fans are excited to have a double feature of two of their favorite films, the studios behind these films may not see things with such an optimistic perspective, as they will be fighting over ticket sales. Reeves, on the other hand, will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Reeves will also be appearing in the forthcoming Spongebob movie, in which he will portray a tumbleweed that is also some sort of deity and the third installment of the classic comedy Bill & Ted, co-starring Alex Winter, is also currently in development. This year, the actor also took on a role in the video game Cyberpunk 2077, in which a character was designed in his likeness and provides the voiceovers.

As we have covered in the past, Keanu Reeves is a hero off the screen as well, and has been silently involved with a variety of different charitable efforts throughout his career, even establishing a cancer foundation to fund children’s hospitals. He is also rumored to have bought Harley Davidson motorcycles for the entire 12 person stunt crew of The Matrix Reloaded as a holiday gift.
