Why Is This ‘Creepy AF’ Light Glowing From Woman’s Bathtub Drain?

Have we finally discovered a portal to another dimension – or even to the Biblical hell itself?

Social media users were asking precisely this question after photos emerged online of a disturbing light coming from the drain of a bathtub in a hotel. The photos, snapped by an anonymous woman staying at the suite, quickly spread through social platforms and teased the curiosity of viewers.

“I’m in a hotel and I just noticed that the bath drain has a light coming from it. What could it be?” the anonymous guest wrote alongside the pics in a Wednesday post to the Facebook group “Things Found In Walls – And Other Hidden Findings.”

In the images, the circular trap can be seen emitting a strange orange glow – not unlike that which would come from an antiquated industrial furnace or the rocket thrusters of a jet.

The unnerving photos provoked a range of responses from users.

“That’s clearly a portal to hell,” one commenter suggested.

Another described the possible hellhole as “creepy as f*ck.”

Making reference to the classic scene from the film adaptations of Stephen King’s “It,” another member of the group joked: “Uh dunno, but if someone down there asks if you’d like a balloon, just say no.”

However, one member of the group offered a plausible explanation for the eerie light that was quite banal.

“Most hotels have a chase between the rooms where all the mechanical systems are exposed so they can be maintained,” the user explained. “If the trap in the tub is plastic and the maintenance person left the light in the chase on, it will be visible in your room. That’s probably what’s happening here.”
